Set aside any preconceived notions of what this “big band” will sound like. Their diverse performances range from classic big band standards to funk (fusion), with some swing, Latin, bebop and soul in between.
The LCC Jazz Band, under the direction of Jonathon Gewirtz, is a unique collection of members of the community and Lansing Community College students. There is a wide range of ability levels, ranging from music majors and professionals, to non-music majors and amateurs, all committed to developing high standards of personal and ensemble musicianship. Joined on stage, the 22 members make great music together!
