Sencalar / Glassman Quintet
The Sencalar/ Glassman Quintet features a classic jazz lineup with an uncommon horn “front line” of two trombones. Comprised of musicians from the MSU College of Music Jazz Studies area, the band performs JJ Johnson & Kai Winding arrangements, jazz standards with their own twist, and original music. Members of the band have played with jazz greats such as Steve Wilson, Michael Phillip Mossman, Rodney Whitaker, Helen Sung, and Harvey Mason. The Sencalar/ Glassman Quintet is currently performing as featured artist at venues including Jazz Tuesday’s at Moriarty’s Pub, local central Michigan high schools, and many others.
