:: 2012 :: Jazz Doggs is a collection of local musicians who regularly get together to play jazz. Eric Payne, on drums, has performed with Big Willy and the Kathleen Bolthouse Band. Doug Fritch, on guitar, is a graduate of the Los Angeles Musicians Institute, teaches guitar at Music Manor, and performs with Summer of Sol. Dick Johnson, on bass, teaches at Marshall Music and often performs with Betty Baxter. Dan Johnson plays tenor and alto saxophone, as well as performing with the LCC Faculty band Layers. Jon Gewertz received his masters of music performance in saxophone from MSU.
